Life with Kinley

Ohh my precious baby :) I love this girl so much however, along with cooking - I am figuring out how to be a momma as well. Although I have a fantastic mother in which I learned a ton from - she always reminds me that "I don't know how good I have it." Apparently back in the day when I was a baby - monitors were not thought of, car seats were a pain (and still are) and she walked to school in the cold, 5 miles each way, barefoot, uphill both ways, etc. :) I LOVE YOU MOM. I am still learning to be a mom daily. I am learning the cries, the rashes, the bumps, etc.

You can use this page to follow the life of my sweet baby girl and find plenty of updates on adventures of motherhood. Don't worry - I will also be throwing in some wonderful things that I am learning and be sure to share plenty of good stories for your entertainment.

Pumpkin Patch: Dewberry Farm
(October 2012)

We couldn't wait to take Kinley to the pumpkin patch. We knew that she wouldn't really understand what was going on but if nothing else we wanted to start a tradition and of course snap some great pics! We went with our friends Ryan and Laura - we usually do most things with them. It isn't often that you find a couple where the husbands are really close, the wives are really close, and you have kids just about the same age (we have already forced them to be best friends). We had a great time minus the terrible weather. After driving about an hour to get there - we had to brave the storm: throw the boots on, the hair up and make the most of it.

Here are a few of my favorite pics.

Halloween 2012
Halloween is so much fun and even though she couldn't really go trick-or-treating, you better believe we weren't going to miss the chance to dress her up and take pics :) We did manage to go trick-or-treating to one house (Mimi and Pawpaw's)!

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony:

Sugar Land Town Square

Tonight we went to the tree lighting ceremony in Town Square. We had so much fun and it was so fun to see Kinley taking it all in! Although we didn't last until the actually tree lighting, it is so fun to create our own family traditions with Kinley. I love Christmas time and spending time with great friends and family :)

Brunch with Santa: Rozell Family Christmas

Every year we spend Christmas in Indianapolis with my family. Before we leave we always spend a special "Christmas Day" with Michael's family. This year we were so excited to spend Christmas with Kinley and couldn't wait to see her open gifts. We started the morning by going to the Country Club for "Brunch with Santa" then we came back to our house for presents. We had such a good time as usual and it was even more fun to watch Kinley open presents and play with all of the paper/bows.

She loved her new car from her Mimi and Pawpaw!

Santa Take 2

Of course we had to do Santa one more time in Indianapolis. I think Kinley forgot to tell him something? With that being said, we made sure she had the perfect outfit to meet Santa in (every girl needs a chic black blazer). When she sat on his lap we got one good pose of her looking at him but we already have a decent picture with him from the first time she meet him. I couldn't resist - I HAD to have this. It will definitely be in the baby book :)

Kinley's First Snow Day (or night)

One of the many reasons I was so excited to come home for Christmas was to see Kinley in the snow! I  kept my fingers crossed, bought a snow suit and hoped for the best. Last night, we were lucky enough to get about 2 inches. So instead of going to bed at 8:00, we let her stay up and play in the snow :) I couldn't wait until the morning to see her in her snowsuit!

Kinley's First Haircut

Well we finally reached the point of a haircut. She has a ton of hair and since she refuses to wear bows anymore to pull her bangs back, we had to do the haircut. I refused to cut it into a weird boy haircut like I once had (thanks a lot mom) but she just needed a little trim :)

Kinley Finds the Diaper Cream :)

February 20, 2013

Well I was finally playing "tough love" and I thought that Kinley was just over tired and wasn't napping. So . . . . learning to let her "cry it out" for a few minutes and not give her a bottle, I ignored her for about 10 minutes until I finally gave in. You can imagine my surprise walking into this . . . . Keep in mind that we have rearranged her nursery 2 times now so that she can't get anything into her crib. I am still wondering how in the world she managed to get an entire tub of diaper cream into her crib.

FYI: these pics were taken after I had already wiped her face, called poison control, and got all of the diaper cream (aka GLUE) out of my hair and hers since she was sweet enough to share with me :)
