The Hostess with the Mostess (as my Gram would say)

My husband and I LOVE to host parties, events, anything to get together with all of our friends and family. I love planning a good party although wish I took the time to enjoy it more. I am going to post all fun events here that we put together or attended. Yes, feel honored if your event made this page.

Pre-Holiday Cocktail Party

November 10, 2012

November and December are just way to crazy. We always go to Mexico in November and I love to head home to Indiana very early for Christmas. Therefore, we just don't have time to host a Holiday Party near any actual holidays . . . With that in mind - we created "The Rozell's Pre-Holiday Party." Perfect way to kick off the entire season, only problem is we put our tree up in the beginning of November. Of course I didn't take pics during the party (real smart right?) But my wonderful father-in-law snapped some pics of the set up. We had about 50 of our closest friends and had a great time!

Entry Table
To create more room we had to remove our kitchen table. but we had tons of food and an awesome caterer/wait staff.
We also had a great bar tender. Palace Beverage - I would highly recommend.
Our Tree - of course Kinley is the only one with presents underneath.
Didn't get my stockings monogrammed in time :(
I absolutely despise putting up garland. I hate it so much that I would much rather go to the dentist. But, it looks really pretty :)
View of the kitchen - you can see the candy bar I set up. There were also bags to take home.  And yes, my kitchen ceiling is green. I love it.

Kinley's First Birthday

January 26, 2013

I couldn't wait to plan Kinley's Birthday Party. Of course, I went all out! I managed to get really sick at the beginning of week with a nasty stomach bug which my daugther then got. Luckily, my husband was out of town so he managed to skip those few days! Long story short, I got way overwhelmed and almost cancelled the party. After a LOT of help from family and friends, we managed to pull it off. It was a perfect day! Although we were missing my family that afternoon (which you will see in pics) we had a party for her in Indianapolis as well when we were home for Christmas. Lucky girl got 2 birthday cakes :)

I decided on a "Winter One-derland" theme. We live in Houston (which is the funny part since they don't have a winter) and the weather was perfect. Nothing like a January birthday party with a temperature of 78. I tried to stick with snowmen/winter things. My favorite thing about the party (which you will see in a lot of pics) were the snowmen. The funny thing is where I got them * FOR FREE by the way. * While shopping at Carter's in November, they had the snowmen all over the store for their winter floor set, they matched her invitation perfectly and I wanted them HAD TO HAVE THEM. After bribing the manager with food, lunch, Chick Fil - A (whatever in the world she wanted) she offered to just give them to me for free when they were done with them :) Anyways, you can see pics below!

Set-up time! Amy helping with gift bags :)
These boys were supposed to be helping but got caught with the cotton candy.

Entry! I have been storing these silly trees in my dining room since Christmas for this party! I can finally put them away!

The entry table. The gift bags were below with an "Adoption Center" up top.
What was inside the gift bags? The teacher in me had to give a book and was so excited when I found one called Snow Party. Then a DVD, rubby ducky, snow bubbles, and a blow up ball with a snowman in the middle.
Would love to take credit for this but found it on Pinterest. The bears are Oriental Trading.
Cake Table. The cupcake wrappers are "Toddler Treats." I filled them with Gerber Puffs, Goldfish, and Cheerios for the kids attending.
Some of the food. I ordered 2 sandwich trays (I didn't get to make as much as I wanted since I was sick). The tiered platter was Fruit Skewers (with snowballs - marshmallows - separating the fruit).

One of my favorite parts about the party were the food tents. One of my amazing friends made them for her party to match her invitation. Each one had a different picture of her playing in the snow.

I decided to go old school and make the banner myself. Wasn't as difficult as I thought, just time consuming.

The cake was designed by one of Michael's amazing co-workers. I gave her the invitation and told her to come up with something similar and large :) It was delicious and of course there was plenty left!
Cake time! the top tier was a smash cake for Kinley.
Present time! She took the time to read each card :) She was such a diva sitting in her new chair from Mimi and Pawpaw (which is going to be monogrammed!) too cute!

I wanted to make sure that there was plenty to entertain the kids coming, so I put a ton of toys outside including a ball pool and bubbles.

It was such a perfect day and we had so much fun watching her take it all in. Although she may not remember this one day, I will at least have plenty of pics to show her. To see ALL of the pics and great friends that attended * CLICK HERE *
